A classic game of X and O, with themes, sound, and single-player or two-player modes.

About the game

Tic Tac Toe is the well-known game played on a 3×3 grid. Two sides take turns placing their mark (X or O) in an empty square. The first to get three of their marks in a row—horizontally, vertically, or diagonally—wins. If all nine squares are filled with no winner, the game is a draw.

This app includes:

Single player vs AI – Play against the computer with Easy, Medium, or Impossible difficulty.
Local two-player – Pass the device and take turns with a friend.
Themes – Change how X and O look (e.g. classic, cats vs dogs, neon, space, food, nature).
Backgrounds – Choose from different board backgrounds.
Custom names & avatars – Set names and emoji avatars for Player X and Player O.
Sound – Optional background music and sound effects (music and move/win volumes can be adjusted).
Score tracking – Wins and draws are tracked for the current session and stored on your device.

How to play

The game is played on a grid that’s 3 squares by 3 squares.
You are X, your friend (or the computer) is O. Players take turns putting their marks in empty squares.
The first player to get 3 of their marks in a row—up, down, across, or diagonally—is the winner.
When all 9 squares are full, the game is over. If no player has 3 in a row, the game ends in a tie (draw).

Tips

Tap an empty square to place your mark when it’s your turn.
Use the refresh (new game) button to start a new round; scores are kept until you reset them in Settings.
In Single Player, choose your difficulty in Settings: Easy (random moves), Medium (blocks and takes wins), or Impossible (optimal play).
